Wes Todd, author of the Cardiovascular Review Series As changes to the site are posted, and new versions of the course materials become available, the information will be posted here.

February, 2011 - The 5th Edition is now available.

The End of RCIS "Grandfathering"

On-the-job trained Cath Techs (OJT trained) are only allowed to take RCIS exam until July 2013. Two years of OJT will no longer get applicants into the exam. After that date, CCI will only allow applicants with approved medical education or degrees to sit for the RCIS exam. If you are an OJT cath tech, your job may be in jeopardy unless you study for and pass the RCIS EXAM, before this grandfather clause expires.

It's Now or Never!

Also, CCI has rolled the old "Science exam" into the RCIS exam, so there is only one large $350 exam to take.
See cci-online.org.

Our new 5th edition CV Review books
are tailored for this latest RCIS exam.

March, 2010 - CCI testing organization is doing away with the CV Science Exam on June 1, 2010. All science material will now be included in the longer and more expensive registry exams. Thus, we no longer advertise the Vol. 1 book for the CV Science exam. Future registry exams will be 200 questions long. Our Vol. 1 book is still applicable to all the registry exams (70 science questions) but makes no attempt to cover registry level noninvasive questions (130 questions). The book is still available individually, but it will normally be sold as part of the RCIS review set SO2a & SO2b.

August, 2009 - We have begun developing a review book for the RCES exam. If you wish to contribute, please let Wes know.

March, 2009 - We upgraded the CD to be Windows Vista and 9 compatible

June, 2006 - A few changes have been made to the web site:

A new section has been added about the CardioVascular Orientation Program (CVOP). This is an expanded version of the CVOP that is designed for working CV staff to use via their hospital's intranet. It includes a two day, in-house, training session with Marsha Holton, CCRN, RCIS, FSICP. You can read about CVOP here >>>

In 2003, we updated the CD to the latest Macromedia program and included a new game on hemodynamic pressure identification. You can see parts of this game (Hemodynamic Practice 1 and Practice 2)

SCC, the college where I taught CVTs for 23 years, is now offering the two year program through distance learning in Tacoma, Washington, across the state. A grant is making this possible, and students are enrolled beginning in 2004.
I consult with SCC to develope this distance learning curriculum, and have developed PowerPoint presentations to explain the program and what an ICT is.
